The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (OFSTED) inspects and regulates the care of children and young people, and the education and skills of learners of all ages.
Section 16 of the School Inspection Handbook states that maintained primary schools that were judged to be outstanding in their overall effectiveness at their most recent section 5 inspection are exempt from inspection under section 5. Exempt schools are subject to risk assessment. If no concerns are raised from the risk assessment, the school will continue to be risked assessed on a regular basis.
