We have now adopted the new national curriculum. The programmes of study within the new National Curriculum (NC) set out expectations at the end of each key stage and all maintained schools are free to develop a curriculum relevant to their pupils that teaches this content.

As part of our reforms to the National Curriculum, the current system of ‘levels’ used to report children’s attainment and progress have been removed and have not been replaced.

By removing ‘levels’ this allows teachers greater flexibility in the way that they plan and assess pupils’ learning.

At Wellstead Primary, we have developed our own assessment system that is based on the National Curriculum end of year expectations. They work on a series of developmental bands from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Year 6.

There was excellent attendance of parents  at the assessment evenings held by Mrs Roberts. Here you can find the presenations from this evenings that we are sure you will find informative.
