Wellstead Primary School opened in April 2008 with 17 children and 5 staff and since then has grown rapidly towards its full capacity of 210 children in 7 classes. Everyone who is involved in this exciting project is completely dedicated to creating an excellent school which provides the highest standards of education for each child. Our aim is that the school will form a central part of the community in which it is situated and that through working in partnership with parents and the community, we can build a school of which we are all very proud. We feel that the relatively small size of the school enables us to create a caring, family ethos in which our children can flourish. Our expectation is that children should enjoy being at school, achieve highly and make a positive contribution. Strong relationships between home and school are fundamental in this and we aim to build active partnerships throughout the time that children are with us.
